Constructed in 1865, the Asbury Graphite Mill, originally built to grind flour, replaced an old 1700’s mill. It was leased by Harry M. Riddle in 1895, who was the founder of today’s Asbury Carbons Incorporated. Riddle hired a miller to convert the mill so that it could produce refined graphite.
